Yam Chips PDF Print E-mail

These chips are great as a side dish or even as a snack on the go!

 

Ingredients

* 2 lb yam
* 3 3/4 C. water
* 2 tsp. ground turmeric
* 2 tsp. chilli powder
* 1 tsp. asafoetida
* oil for deep frying
* salt to taste

Directions

Mix the turmeric and water. Peel and thinly slice the yam and soak in the turmeric water for 30 minutes. Drain and leave to dry. Heat the oil and fry the yam until golden brown. Sprinkle over the spices and salt and store in an airtight container.
