This delicious beverage is quite costly because it's made using saffron threads. Ingredients

*3 C. milk
*12 to 14 whole saffron threads or 1/8 tsp. chopped threads
*few pinches of freshly ground cardamom powder and cinnamon powder
*1/4 C. shelled, crushed pistachio nuts
*honey to taste

Directions

Heat milk in saucepan. Take out 1/4 cup of hot milk and soak the saffron in it. Add the powdered spices and the pistachios to the milk, along with just enough honey to sweeten it lightly. Add the saffron and the soaking milk and mix well. Scald the liquid until it starts to froth, stirring frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Transfer to a pitcher and whisk before serving.
